Harmonium will enable you to play different styles of harmonium, perfectly in tune.
If youre interested to play indian music (karnatac or hindusthani), this is the perfect "travel" harmonium you need. Tune your harmonium such as the great singer masters where doing, in the indian harmonic scale. You select harmonic scale, and the base note. Thats it.
If you prefer to play western music, religious music, then tune the harmonium to the common tempered scale. Youll have a big church harmonium in your pocket!
Our harmonium can do automatic transposition. You can play in any key with the same keyboard position. You just need to select the note to play on the C key of the keyboard.
Harmonium contains two sound flavours :
- Traditional Harmonium, with deep sound of original reeds
- Modern flute organ, simpler, heavenly
Each sound flavour has a simple set of reeds, or double (with octave).
The harmonium can be tuned between A 380 Hz and 470 Hz.
An option enables harmonium to play while your iPhone / iPad is playing music. This is very convenient for training yourself to accompagny your prefered artists! Play karaoke with your harmonium!
For getting the best sound from this instrument, it is advised to use a good headphone or a pair of speakers with loudspeaker.
We should distinguish Harmonium from Shruti (or sruti). Actually, the harmonium is a melody instrument and is usually used to follow the melody played by the soloist (sitar, bansuri, vocal, tabla, ...). The Shruti is only used to play continuously a set of notes (drone) for create the musical atmosphere.
Pros and cons of Harmonium app for iPhone and iPad
Harmonium app good for
Good for practicing when away from the real Harmonium. Press some chords and use it as a tanpura.
A cool little music device for when you have an urge to play a musical instrument on the go. Tons of fun, and the scale changer is pretty damn awesome! Enjoy responsibly!! :D
This is really great for anyone taking Indian classical singing or anyone who loves Kirtan. Great way to practice when you do not own a Harmonium. Also great if you are endeavoring to practice more often.
First of all traditional Harmonium preset sounds unnatural, may be reverberation feature would solve this out
Second theres no emulation of reed which player uses to add modulations to sound. I propose to add reponse to fingers vibration while pressing note (like making vibrato on guitar) or any other thing to make these modulations possible
Also, application needeed to restart after it was folded (screen would not respond). Tested on IOS 4.2.1
I am a musicai and it was important for me to have something available while traveling etc.
This app is just fantastic, the best feature is that you can play on a track from your iPod.
WELL DONE!
Nice to have a Harmonium with many features in my pocket. I also bought the Shruti from this developer, and now will search for a Tanpura.
Some bad moments
Harmonium with a nice sound, but latency is much too high to play, especially since the last update.
This is a horrible app, what a waste of money. It sounds nothing like a Harmonium.
Poor in every aspect.
This is the worst program ever. Waste of money. It sounds like an organ and nothing like a Harmonium.
what a waste of money .....mostly waste of time ...sounds nothing like a Harmonium .....your better of to get those free piano apps
Sounds nothing like Harmonium. I shouldve believed the reviews before buying it.
Well, I am happy to see a software which i can play like a Harmonium. :)
But it doesnt really sound like one. :(
Hopefully the updates will make it better.
